Qualifications and accreditation:

• PGCert (Level 7) - Postgraduate Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties
• AMBDA - Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association
• APC - Assessment Practising Certificate
• QTS - Qualified Teacher Status
• MA - Masters in Comparative Education
• PGCE - Post Graduate Certificate in Education

• BA - Bachelor of Arts (Hons)

My name is Thea and I am a specialist dyslexia assessor and SEN teacher.

I have over 15 years of experience in education and a strong background in supporting pupils with specific learning differences. Having worked in schools since 2009 and in SEN leadership roles, I understand how learning profiles affect children both in the classroom and beyond.

I have experience supporting children and young people with a range of learning differences and additional needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, speech and language needs, and literacy difficulties.

My approach is thorough, supportive and child-centred. Diagnostic assessments are designed to build a clear picture of strengths and areas of difficulty, helping families and schools understand how a child learns best and what support will make the greatest difference.

Experienced & Child-Centred

With experience as both a specialist teacher and a parent, I offer comprehensive dyslexia assessments alongside structured, individualised tuition. My approach is detailed, empathetic, and designed to provide clear practical support for individuals and their families.

A calm, supportive approach to learning and assessment

Choosing the right support for an assessment is an important decision. I offer a personal, specialist dyslexia assessment and tuition service that is tailored to each individual.

Highly Qualified Assessor

Assessments are conducted by an AMBDA-qualified assessor (Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association) with a valid Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). With an MA in Education and extensive experience teaching children with a wide range of needs, assessments are thorough, accurate and tailored to each individual.

Accepted Evidence

Reports follow current SASC guidelines and can be used as formal evidence for exam access arrangements and Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) applications. Each report clearly explains the assessment findings, provides a clear diagnostic summary and includes tailored recommendations for school, college, university, or the workplace.

All sessions and assessments are calm, supportive, and carefully paced, with breaks where needed. Background information from home and school is used to build a clear and accurate understanding of each individual's strengths and needs.
